Celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the First CITIZEN Branded Watch

In 1924, CITIZEN created its first-ever product, a pocket watch. It was given the name CITIZEN to express the idea of a watch that as many people as possible would use and cherish for a long time. Inspired by that original philosophy, we have never stopped seeking out ways to improve things in the 100 years since. Now, we have reached the milestone year of 2024. And to mark the 100th anniversary of the first CITIZEN watch comes a limited edition from Series 8 designed around a two-tone colour scheme grey and blue.

- Mother-of-pearl dial with blue gradation The refined mother-of-pearl dial is finished with a striking blue gradation.

- Grey and blue tones accent the unique two-piece bezel design Contrasting grey and blue colors create an eye-catching look that highlights the distinctive two-piece bezel that has become the signature of the 880 Mechanical line-up. The integrated bracelet connected to the lug-free case also echoes the same grey and blue tones.

- GMT function
Local time in a second time zone can be displayed using the 24-hour hand. The bidirectional rotating bezel also makes it possible to rapidly confirm the time in a third time zone. The GMT function allows the hour hand to be adjusted freely without affecting the minute, second, or 24-hour hands. The hour hand can be moved forward or backward in units of one hour to display local time, making it perfect for overseas vacations and business trips.

- Movement with enhanced magnetic resistance
The movement also has magnetic resistance to maintain the accuracy of the watch by reducing the effects of magnetic fields produced by smartphones and tablets in our digital society. High-spec features include average daily accuracy of -10 to +20 seconds and a running time of approx. 50 hours.
